Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What happens during a typical photo shoot?

A. My goal during your session is to a make you feel relaxed and comfortable as I create beautiful images that you are pleased with. I will give direction throughout the shoot to capture various poses but you have over-all control of the session. We can work together to determine what is best for your session.

Q. What happens after the photo shoot?

A. Approximately one week after your photo shoot, I will send you an email with instructions on how to view your images in your sessions online password protected gallery. You will have the option to purchase prints, photo canvases, leather photo books and more. 2-3 days after you place your order online, your prints and/or CD will be mailed directly to your home. Leather albums take 2-3 weeks to create and can be picked up or mailed for an additional shipping charge.

Q. How many images will you take during my session?

A. This depends on the length of your session, the amount of wardrobe changes and poses. As the photographer I will do my best to get as many shots in as many different clothing options and poses as possible. I will re-touch and edit ALL usable images from the session. If you decide to purchase a CD it will include ALL edited usable images from the session.

Q. When is the best time to schedule my maternity session?

A. The best time to schedule a maternity session is when you are six to eight months into your pregnancy. Some women like to take bare belly photographs early into their pregnancy to reduce the risk of stretch marks appearing in the photographs. Month by month progression is also popular and can be scheduled as early as 3 months into the pregnancy. Partners are encouraged to attend so keep their availability in mind when booking a session.

Q. When is the best time to schedule my family session for a Christmas and Holiday Cards?

A. The best time to schedule a family session for the holidays is October, November and EARLY December so the images can be edited, added to cards and mailed out for the holiday season.

Q. When is the best time to schedule my newborn session?

A. The best time to schedule a newborn session is two to six weeks after delivery. You can schedule ahead of your delivery or contact me after the baby is born. Newborns grow so fast it is amazing the changes that will happen within 3 months. Many parents like to schedule sessions at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months.

Q. What should I wear?

A. You are encouraged to bring a few changes of clothes to the session. This way we can capture several different looks. For a newborn shoot you may want to bring hats, headbands, special outfits and anything else you feel is worth capturing. For maternity sessions, you may want to bring clothing that accentuate and show off your belly such as form fitting tops or dresses, button up shirts, tube tops or strapless bras and cute lingerie. Think outside the box and bring items that would be great to add in to the session such as ultrasound images, scrapbooks, baby booties or shoes, your favorite necklace, your comfy pajamas, one of your husbands work-shirts etc. Most importantly you want to be comfortable in whatever you wear. For sessions with children, you should bring a few of your favorite outfits. Solid colors and patterns both look great as long as the child is happy and comfortable. If you have more than one child, it is not necessary to dress them the same, but clothing should be similar.

Q. What is your background in photography?

A. I have a love for photography and photo editing. I decided to start my own event photography business which proved to be a success. I have taken thousands of photographs throughout my career and I very much enjoy what I do. As my husband and I decided to start our family, I came to the conclusion that a primary focus on event photography would no longer be well suited for my lifestyle although I still book events occasionally. We are excited to be having our first child in February 2012. I am lucky enough that I do not have to work to support our family but my love for photography can be fulfilled with-in our home where I have my studio.
